Judith Varner Satterfield's Obituary
After struggling for many years with recovery from major surgery, Judith M. (Varner) Satterfield died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Santa Rosa, CA on October 8, 2010. Born in Tacoma, WA on April 25, 1939, she was a positive influence to those in her family and to many friends throughout her life. She loved young people and was a favorite "auntie" to her nieces and nephews and their children. As a youngster, Judy enjoyed family camping trips to Fish Lake Stream on the Yakama Reservation. After moving to California, she took up the guitar and loved to sing and play folk music. She is survived by husband Richard Satterfield of Santa Rosa, CA, sister Karen (Varner) Dickinson of Browning, MT, brother Gary Varner and wife Mary of Siletz, OR, and numerous nieces and nephews Judy was preceded in death by her father David Varner, mother Marguerite Varner, natural mother Thelma Doore, brother Darryl Varner, and sister Doris (Fredrickson) Wilson. A memorial service will be held at in the Mountain View Garden Chapel in Tacoma, WA at 1 PM on October 30, 2010. Donations strongly suggested to your favorite charity.
