When Judy's daughter, Sharon, and I were dorm mates at WSU in the early '60s, my family lived on the East coast. Flying costs being what they were then, I was often not "home for the holidays". Dear Sharon and Mike--There is one special memory of your mother that I will always remember. It was the winter of 1978. We had just moved into our home on Lake Tapps. The lake had frozen over that winter and Judy came knocking at our door. It was such a beautiful day and she thought she might like to skate across the lake. She stood there at the front door with her skates she had had since she was a young girl. So very proud of them at that. She proceeded down to the lake and off she went. I knew your mother in her later years when she came to Dr. Kitts with her friend Ruth, to have their feet tended to. In talking we discovered that we were both from Sumner and then the connection became very clear. I was one of Bob's students. I had a wonderful time talking to Judy about old days and people we both knew. She was a very sweet lady and well liked by all. I always looked forward to our talks.
