Juanita Gabiran Martin's Obituary
Juanita Martin went Home to God on March 29, 2010 at the age of 86 years young. She was born June 19, 1923 to Felix and Esperanza Mamuri in Ilagan Isabela, Philippines. She married Ulysses Martin on August 22, 1947. Before coming to America, Juanita studied fashion design and sewing in Manila. She continued her craft working for the Item House, a coat manufacturer in Tacoma, Washington before retiring in the mid-80's. She was an expert seamstress, an avid gardener and cook. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tacoma, Washington.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Evelyn Ragland and son-in-law Robert Ragland, Ulysses Martin, Jr., Hettie L. Hubbard and son-in-law, Keith Hubbard, and Anthony Martin and daughter-in-law Martha Martin of Tacoma, Washington, Felix Martin of Vancouver, Washington and Jeanette Martin of Seattle, Washington, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Friday, April 2, 2010 between 1:00pm and 9:00pm and funeral services will follow on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00am in the Celebration of Life/Aspen Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, Washington. A repast will be held at the Gathering Church, 4012 Portland Avenue, in Tacoma, Washington following funeral services.
