Joyce Linder's Obituary
JOYCE M. LINDER
1929 - 2013
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joyce went to be with Jesus, her Lord on July 30, 2013.
A lifelong resident of Tacoma, she was born May 31, 1929, the youngest daughter of Oliver and Viola DeLoria. Joyce accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and faithfully loved and served him all of her days. She married the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Linder in 1948 and spent every day of their 54 year marriage, devoted to his happiness. She will be laid to rest with Jerry, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Lorraine, 3 infant brothers and daughter, Meridee. Joyce took great joy in caring for her family and friends, giving of her love unconditionally. Besides her family, she loved to worship God by singing gospel music in choirs and at rescue mission services. Though her memory failed her in recent years, she could still sing the words of the old hymns, as she sang along with gospel DVD's in her home day after day. She also avidly crocheted and blessed many lives with her beautiful gifts. Joyce loved her garden and keeping it weed free was a high priority.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Pam Bennett (John), Patricia Rody (Gordon), Marlys Linder-Hoffman (Frank), son in laws, Tim Curtis (Mary Ann) and Vern Richert; grandchildren, Joyce Brown (Jerry), Julie Curtis, Gerod Rody, Amy Rody, Cheramie Henley (Adam), James Hoffman and Angie Whittier; great grandchildren, Tristan, Tre', Jasmine, Tajinae, Jamal, Lauren, Chloe, Jerry, Keanu, Solomon and Vienne. Joyce is also survived by sister in law, Dorothy Linder and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Monica Hoffman and Karen Kirkland, for their loving kindness and care these past several years.
