Joyce L. Karsten's Obituary
On Sunday, May 2, 2010, Joyce L. Karsten gently passed away at home in Lakewood, WA. Preceded in death by her husband Jack G. Karsten in 2008, she is survived by their six children, Jack L., Janelle, Jamie, Jerry (Karen), Janis (Howard), and Jeff (Nadine), 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother Jim Bricker, sister Janelle (Gordon) Personius, and 4 nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. After a full career of nursing and raising their family, she loved gardening, traveling, and cooking. Although stories of her jello recipes will live on and bring a smile to all that experienced them, they will not be missed. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lakewood, WA at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 22, 2010, with a reception following at the home of Janis and Howard. Remembrances may be made in Joyce's name to the Humane Society or a local food bank.
