Joyce Louise (Marshall) Fields
Joyce M. Fields, 93, surrounded by family, was received into the arms of Jesus her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2020 in Tacoma, Washington.
Joyce was born June 25, 1926 to Felix and Lizzy Beth (Short) Marshall in Utica, Mississippi. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband (Maxie Sr.), her daughters Melissa (Mark) Dawkins, and Barbara Fields. She is survived by her loving children Philip, Sharon Gilmore (Larry), Maxie Jr. (Stella), Patricia, and Michael (Anne), 16 grandchildren, and 27 (soon to be 29) great-grandchildren.
Joyce was a dedicated wife, mother and follower of Jesus Christ who loved to study her bible and watch her Gaither Homecoming DVDs.
Joyce worked for the Tacoma School District as a cook for several years while her children were all of school age.
Later years she returned to school attending Bates Vocational College to receive her license as a certified LPN and worked at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital until she retired.
Joyce attended the Word of Life Bible Fellowship where her son, Michael, serves as the pastor.
Joyce was very talented and loved to sing at church, doing bible word search puzzles, crocheting, sewing, and was an excellent cook and baker.
A Funeral Service for Joyce will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lakewood.
