Josephine Lottie Roberts' Obituary
On April 6, 2021 Josephine Lottie Roberts (born Vinson) peacefully passed away at her home in Tacoma, WA at the age of 81.
Josephine was the oldest of 6 children, born February 4, 1940 in Greeley, Colorado. She was a caring mother of four, loving partner of 35 years to Mickey, and doting grandmother to 11 grandkids and 20 great grandkids.
Josephine had several occupations throughout her lifetime starting out as Cow Herder at the age of 9, to a Go-Go Dancer making her own flashy costumes, a Dance Instructor with Arthur Murray’s Dance Studio and Fred Astaire’s Dance Studio, top Sales Associate in the Lingerie Department at Sears, but the job she enjoyed the most was a Floral Designer, because it didn’t seem like much work at all playing in flowers all day.
As a member of the Pierce County Pool Hustlers club, she was a competitive Pool Shooting champion. She also enjoyed gardening, floral designing, dancing, playing BINGO, crafting, cheering on the Seahawks, Mexican food especially on Cinco De Mayo with a Margarita, listening to music but most of all spending time or a laugh with her beloved family. She lived her life to the fullest extent with spunk, style, and had the best sense of humor.
Josephine was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Cole; her father, Ivan Vinson; her partner, Mickey Webster; brother, Leonard Vinson; and sister, Pam Price. She is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Hakola; Tamra Hakola Moore, Julie Hakola; son, Sam Roberts; sisters, JoAnn Templin, Pauline Sparks; brother, Ricky Vinson; dogs Boopers and Moo-Moo; and many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, and nephews. She will be missed by many, but forgotten by none.
Josephine will be honored in a celebration of life on Sunday April 18th, 2021.
