Joseph A. Yannello
Joseph Yannello of Lakewood, WA passed away Tuesday March 25, 2014. He was born 88 years ago to Joseph Yannello and Angela Yannello (DeConna), in Barnesboro, PA. Joseph retired as a Major from the US Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a member of MATS (Military Air Transport Service) where he flew the C-124 Globemaster. His assignments sent him to many parts of the world. After military life, he worked for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller retiring after 21 years. While stationed at McChord AFB in 1958, he met his future wife Rene Omdahl who passed away in 2013. They were married for 54 loving years.
Joseph will be remembered as a caring, warm and loving family man. With his great memory, sense of humor and attention to detail he could entertain everyone in the room for hours.
We would like to thank the staff at Madigan Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion you showed to our father and family. You are truly outstanding.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rene D. Yannello (Omdahl), and four brothers, Paul, Theodore, John and Francis. He is survived by his six children, Paul (Alisa), Eric (Arlene), Joe (Cheryl), Mark (Lisa), John (Lena), David, his brother David (Janice) Yannello of Gaffney, SC, and fourteen grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Joseph’s funeral mass at 10:00am on April 1, 2014 at St. Francis Cabrini. Lakewood, WA.
