Joseph Lanzon,'s Obituary
Â"Someday IÂ'll be dying to get in that place!Â"And he did, October 19, 2006Joseph was born on October 26, 1918 in Valetta, Malta. He immigrated to America thru Ellis Island and grew up in Corona, NYC. He served in the US Air Force as a Navigator, Wing Commander, and Assistant Base Commander assigned mostly with the Strategic Air Command and the Military Airlift Wing; he was a veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. (We so loved his stories of navigating by the stars and his Â"guidedÂ" tours of McChord AFB!) After his retirement, he was able to spend more time with his family: Therese, his wife of 57 years; daughters, JeanMarie (Jerry), Patti (Mike) and Marycatherine (Jon). He was so proud of all his girls and his grandchildren: Matt (Sarah), Greg, Jillian, Neil, and Claire. He is also survived by his two sisters, Dorothy and Mary. His daughter Elizabeth Anne and brother Vinnie preceded him in death. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, October 23rd, at St John Bosco Catholic Church in Lakewood. A Celebration of His Life will be held that same day at 4:00pm at the StubbsÂ' Home, located at 1545 Sunset Dr, Tacoma. Memorials may be made to the St. John Bosco Pastor Fund.
