Joseph J. Kowalski (Papa)
Born June 25, 1924 in Des Plaines, IL to Joe and Vera; died June 25, 2010. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walt and Bill. Survived by his bride of 65 years, Eunice, brother Victor (Rosemarie), daughters Janis Long (Michael), Kristine Cournoyer (Robert), son Mark (Jan), grandchildren Dawn, Kimberly, Sean, Keith, Amy and Lana, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his special pal, Little Miss.
Joe graduated in 1942 from Stadium HS, and served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from civil service at Fort Lewis as foreman of aircraft maintenance in 1980.
Viewing Wednesday, June 30, 1pm - 9pm, and graveside service Thursday, July 1, 2010, 10:30 am at Mountain View Cemetery, followed by a celebration of Joe's life at 2pm at Skyline Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Skyline Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 6301 Westgate Blvd., Tacoma, WA 98406.
