Joseph Andre Genga Sr.'s Obituary
Joseph Andre Genga passed away unexpectedly in Port Angeles Washington on January 7, 2014. Andre was born in Marseille, France to Lewis A. Genga Jr. and Opal Ruth Sandi Genga. He grew up in a military family with 8 brothers and sisters. Andre resided in many places during his younger years before his family finally settled in Tacoma where his father retired from the military and the great story of Andre truly began.
Andre would tell you the longest and greatest chapter in his life would be the one of him as a father and grandfather. Andre was a very loving and supportive father. His children were his pride and joy. To see Andre with his children was the picture of what an amazing parent is, it was a picture of what his life was about. When the time came for him to become a Grandfather he continued the same love and support he had shown to his children. Andre allowed his grandchildren to know what a truly great, loving and supportive grandfather is, they always knew there was a spot on their Grandpa’s wall with their picture on it and a spot in their Grandpa’s heart where they lived when they weren’t together.
Andre was preceded in death by both of his parents. He leaves behind His Son Andre Jr., Daughter Desiree Rodgers, Son in Law Joshua Rodgers, Grandchildren Alex, Abby and Kaden Rodgers, his ex-wife and friend Zanie Genga, 8 brothers and sisters, Anna Maria Parnell, Annette Tuson, Tony Genga, Anita Moffitt, Angela, Gino Genga, Louise Fries, and Denise Howard. He also leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews, and 7 great nieces and nephews.
Andre enjoyed life to the fullest always looking for an adventure. It did not matter if Andre had a fishing pole or a bat in his hands, he was happy doing any activity that was outside and with the ones he loved. Andre touched the lives of many people throughout his life, he made people belive in themselves, he pushed the ones around him to be better and try harder, he made the world a better place for anyone that was lucky enough to meet him. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
