Jose F. Lara Torres' Obituary
Jose F. Lara Torres, 81, passed away April 9, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. He was born on May 7, 1932 in Cuautla Jalisco, Mexico to Jose Lara and Juana Torres.
Jose married the love of his life Virginia Lourdes Rivero on November 30, 1964 in Seattle, WA.
Jose worked in the Seattle Shipyards prior to starting his dream of owning his own Mexican Restaurant.  He owned and operated several successful restaurants which included the Guadalajara, El Sombrero and El Matador.  His last restaurant, The Acapulco in Parkland, he operated from 1979 until his retirement in 2001.  Following retirement, you could always see Jose at his favorite table at the La Palma in Lakewood giving his beautiful smile to all coming in for dinner.
He is survived by his loving wife Lourdes; daughter Alicia Lara her significant other Juan Vargas; grandson Xavier Lara; sisters Connie (Chester) Espinoza and Lucy Lopez; cousin Diana Elliott her children Jazmine and Trase.
Memorial mass to be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lakewood, WA.
