Johnsie Lorraine Clark's Obituary
Mrs. Johnsie Lorraine Clark age 55 of Lakewood Washington was sent home to heaven on January 8th 2021. Mrs. Clark is now able to rest after coping with kidney dialysis and other medical complications. She will now be with her son D’Juan, mother Barbara Jean, and sisters Andrea and Janice. She was born in Newport News, Virginia.
There is an African proverb “ omwana ni wa bhone” meaning regardless of a child’s biological parent(s), it’s upbringing belongs to the community. Mrs. Clark embodied this proverb as she shared that she was the one everyone called to look after the little ones. This would prove to be her strength as she cared and loved for many extended family with open arms and a smile.
Mrs. Johnsie Clark met her husband Derrick married 35 years in choir practice while serving in the military. One of the stories she loved to tell includes the mishap first date being suspicious of Mr. Clark’s means of transportation, led to a lifetime of memories and beautiful children. She is survived by her devoted husband and children Shaun (Marissa) Claiborne, Angel Clark, Eric (Lekeisha) Clark, Andre (Evelyn) Clark in addition to her beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Johnsie Clark was a phenomenal woman. In the verses of Proverbs 31:25-26; She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She was actively involved in her children’s lives and in her community. Always striving to bring out the best in each person or situation she was in. Those who know Mrs. Clark will remember her stories, smile, and laugh. During family gatherings especially while preparing holiday meals and at the kitchen table, you would hear incredible stories about her life. She was a storyteller, comfort and counselor to many. She might end a conversation saying “Don’t take any wooden nickels”
Mrs. Johnsie Clark will be remembered as a woman of influence who embodies the fruit of the spirit as written in Galatians 5:22-23 “ But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against these things!”.
