John Sankovich
John Sankovich born September 27, 1917 in McGill, Nevada, passed away on July 26, 2012 in Tacoma, Washington at the age of 94. He is preceded in death by Eleanor, his wife of 40 years. He is survived by Martha, his wife of 30 years; daughters Penelope, Pamela (Edward) and stepdaughter Brenda (Rick); grandchildren Richard (Rebecca), Patricia, Raena (Don), Natalia (Matt) and Andrea; step-grandchildren Danielle and Erin; great-grandchildren Julia, DJ, Kaiya, Jonathan, Colin, Alaia and Claire; and sisters Annith, Mime and Alice.
John enjoyed many activities during his life. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his membership in the Poggie Club for many years. He also loved working in his garden and took pride in his rhododendrons and dahlias. For many years, John played his guitar and was active in the -Å"Old Time Fiddlers- group that went to senior centers and nursing homes to entertain the people there. He and Martha enjoyed the times they traveled around the United States, Europe, Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand.
He will be greatly missed by friends and family.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday Aug. 11, 2012 at Fern Hill United Methodist: 501 So. 84th St. Tacoma, WA. Reception to follow.
