John Xavier Rettko 1931-2018 a beloved father, grandfather, brother, favorite uncle, friend, and neighbor passed on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Retsil, VA in Port Orchard, WA on his terms, quickly, quietly and peacefully. John was born in De Pue, Ill. May 18,1931 to John and Lucille and was the middle of 8 children. He is survived by his son Doug Rettko; his daughter in-law Kelly; two grandchildren, Addison and Delaney; his sister Dotsie Rogel; and many nieces and nephews. John traveled the world for 22 years while in the air force with his late wife of 56 years, Ludy. John settled in Tacoma WA with their only son while he soon became the neighborhood handy man and known for always being available to lend a hand to anyone who needed one. A celebration of his life for friends and family will be held Saturday, October 20, from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at his sons’ home, 808 62nd Ave NE, Tacoma, WA 98422.
