MSG John Michael Prall U.S. Army Retired, aged 67, passed away on February 4, 2015 in University Place, WA. He was born on January 26, 1948 in Meadville, PA to Clarence Albert and Clara Esther (Canuti) Prall.
John graduated high school in Buffalo, NY. Following graduation, he went into the U.S. Army and made it his career. He served one tour of duty in Vietnam during his tenure and while he was stationed in San Francisco earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. After John retired from the military, he began a second career retiring as District Manager for SSA.
John married the love of his life Susan E. Thomas on April 19, 1980 in Tacoma, WA. John’s primary love was his family and caring for their needs. He also loved history in every form, from the books he read to the TV shows he watched. Even in his travels, history had to be a part, from visiting the graves of our Presidents to train museums. He was a longtime member of the Prall Family Association. His family and friends will miss his sweet spirit, encyclopedic knowledge of history and helpful ways.
John is survived by his loving wife Susan; son Matthew; brother Larry (Joanna) Prall; sister Helen (Joe) Franta; two cats Rasco and Sisco; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Brian.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, February 12 at Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, Aspen Chapel.
