John Clifford Pegee's Obituary
John Clifford Pegee began his life journey April 21, 1925 in Hope, Arkansas. He was one of seven children born to Ferdinand & Lula B. Pegee.
He spent four years in the Navy and 22 years in the Army. His family retired in Tacoma, WA, where he spent another 20 years at Boeing. At Boeing, he received many awards for his work and identified several process improvements which were adopted into the workplace. He was an avid fisherman and spent many fishing trips at Westport with Army buddies and friends from Boeing. He was married for 67 years to his sweetheart (Cherry) Nealia Lenell Douglas Pegee.
John was a man’s man (we playfully called him John SHAFT), was very protective of family, and took care of us all. He developed a special bond with each of us, and a triple special bond with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his father Ferdinand Pegee; mother Lula B. Pegee; brother Andrew J. Pegee; sisters Bonnie McFadden, Joetta Taylor, Sarah Hill and his eldest son Juan Stanley Pegee.
His legacy of love and memories will be cherished by his wife/high school sweetheart (Cherry) Nealia Lenell Pegee; son John A. Pegee; daughters Beverly J. Miller, Aleicia A. McMichael, Kimberly R. Samuel (William), and Debra Pegee Edwards (who he called daughter); grandchildren: Clifton M. Pegee (Crystal), Anthony I. Miller, Kenya L. Miller, India A McMichael, Vanessa M. Kitt, Jordan S. Pegee, Jalena M. Samuel, twins Marcus and Nathan Samuel, Darche Samuel, Jordan A. Samuel, and Denzel J. Samuel; great-grandchildren Jalea M. Robinson and Sarai Baird .
John’s legacy of love and memories will also be cherished by his brother and sister, Ferdinand (Bill) Pegee Jr. of Kansas City Missouri and Joanna Rice of South Bend, Indiana.
Other family members he loved and cherished are Sherman and Judy McMichael, Cousin John Burns, Cousin Shirley Wilson, Charlotte Kelley (who he also called daughter) and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Although we will miss him greatly, we will forever celebrate his life and be enriched by the seeds that he has sown into our lives.
Kimberly R Samuel
