May the Peace of Christ be with +John's Family and Friends.
I would like to share a moment of blessing among the friends and family of John that happened in the Garden Chapel Memorial Service, just after I read a passsage from the Gospel of John (14.1-6; 6.37-40)
One of the little children, a nephew of +John, called out Ã¢â‚¬Å“I see you!Ã¢â‚¬Â from the seating to the side of the Garden Chapel. Taking that as a theme for faith and friendship and family, we journey in life to be able to say to one another Ã¢â‚¬Å“I see
the deepest you, your true soul, your real identity Ã¢â‚¬â€œ- no matter what!Ã¢â‚¬Â
And that is the promise the Lord makes to each of us, and the promise that He now fulfills to John --- and He does that through us, through our prayers, our care-giving, our being together and holding on.
