Our super brave husband, Dad, Grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, and cousin went to his Heavenly Father's arms June 25th, 2011 from the "awful curse of cancer." He was 86. Survived by loving wife Rosemary of 61 years, twin brother Jim, brother Bob, special loving children John II (Sue), Joan (Pedro) Flores, Mark, Dan (Janis), Mary (Bruce) Slifer, and Pattie, 11 grandchildren, Chris (Annie) Dahl, Dion Flores, Josh (Kaydee), Dan, Patricia, John III, Sarah (Bob) Albert, Josiah (Katelin) Slifer, Mariah and Micah Slifer, Morgan and Mackenzie, 6 great-grandchildren, Nina, Stevie, Jacob Dahl, Cameron and Payton, and Tavia Mae. John was a 1942 Stadium grad. He worked for Northern Pacific Railroad at the roundhouse before being drafted in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer and a bridge builder in Europe. A 35-year mail carrier, an all-around sportsman, avid bowler, golfer, fisherman in the Sound with special buds Bruce and Pattie. Hobbies were gardening, yard work, crosswords, tangle words, and word search. Loved trains. Took quite a few train trips in his retirement years. Loved going to Hawaii with his loving wife Rosemary. Viewing Friday, 1-9pm. Service 11am Sat., July 2nd, 2011, Mountain View Celebration of Life Chapel. A reception to further celebrate John's life will immediatly follow at Environmental Service Building next to Chambers Bay Golf Resort. Please join us for a happy time of reflection.
