John Dennis Irwin's Obituary
John Dennis Irwin was born on November 7, 1941, and passed away on March 3, 2024. We are saddened to share the news of John's passing. He was a remarkable man who touched the lives of many with his kind heart and friendly nature. John was a loving father, a cherished friend, and a valued member of his community. He loved to visit with his church family and was passionate about greeting people.
John was an avid golfer for his entire life. He loved playing golf with his friends and organizing golf tours. John was deeply involved in the electrical industry and served on the board of directors of Elmhurst Mutual Power for over 48 years. He also served with the Washington Rural Electrical Contractors Association for 17 years. John received numerous awards for his lifelong service to the northwest power cooperatives.
John loved his church community and always greeted everyone with a smile and a warm welcome. For many years, he could be found in the parking lot of Puyallup Nazarene Church every Sunday, spreading joy and kindness.
John was also a devoted family man, taking great joy in the accomplishments and successes of his children and grandchildren. He was incredibly proud of his granddaughter, Sofia Rose Ice, and loved listening to her as she learned to play guitar.
John's passing is a great loss to his family, friends, and community. His beloved wife, Nancy, and his brothers, Brian Irwin and Jerrold Irwin, preceded him in death. John was married to Nancy for 35 years before her death in 2000. John is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Ice, and her husband, Charles Ice; his son, John F. Irwin; his sister, Cheryl Hunt; and his sister-in-law, Gail Irwin.
We will forever remember John's kind spirit, generosity, and the love he brought into our lives.
