John D. Gamboa's Obituary
In loving memory of John Dungca Gamboa.
John Gamboa was born on May 27, 1947 in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines to parents Benito Gamboa and Claudia Dungca. His siblings include brothers Pepe and Lito as well as sisters Daling and Lolit. Surrounded by his wife Ederlinda, daughters Jennifer and Jandi, son-in-law Setha, son Jason, and nephew Mervin, John passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024 at Tacoma General Hospital.
With a degree in banking and finance from Holy Angel College in Angeles City, John immigrated with Ederlinda to Tacoma, WA in 1975. Most of his working days were spent with Overall Laundry Services, but John’s true passion was studying the stock market. He had the foresight to heavily invest in tech startup during the 90s. John was well-read, but also a hard worker and proud Teamster who also loved traveling, shopping, dressing well, watching sports, Indiana Jones movies, experiencing different cuisines, and Japanese culture.
John, a proud Filipino, leaves behind many friends and family members as well as deng paborito nang śeśe y Neo ampong y Bodi. But, he joins our ancestors on the other side. He couldn’t wait to see his grandma again. John will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and generosity towards the less fortunate, and he’ll be forever loved and sorely missed by all his family and friends.
