John "Jack" Pasic
John "Jack" Pasic, a lifelong Tacoma resident, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 after ongoing health issues. He was born February 20, 1920 to John and Anna Pasic, the youngest of 2 sons. His brother, Harvey H. Pasic, preceded him in death. Jack graduated from Stadium High School in 1938, and attended Knapp Business College. World War II called him to serve in 1942. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Asiatic-Pacific area campaigns until the end of the war in 1945. January 23, 1943, Jack married Marcia Wells, who was in nurse's training at the time. They were happily married for 66 years and raised 2 children. Jack was a skilled fine woodworker by trade and a longtime member of the Elks. He had many lifelong friends who will remember him fondly for his honesty and wry sense of humor. He enjoyed his family, friends, travel, fishing, and golf. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Wells Pasic, daughter Terra Kelsey, and son Brian Jay Pasic, along with nieces, nephews, and one cousin. Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2009 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel at 2:00 PM, followed by a luncheon at the Celebration of Life Center.
