Rochelle (Foster) Pettijohn
Uncle John was my dad Bob's oldest brother. Dad looked up to John his whole life. Jack, what we all called him, was a decent man. His wife Bev was one of the nicest people I ever met. They had a great relationship and always seemed happy. Once they moved to Tacoma with their son David, and daughter Debbie we lost touch. Once, Jack, Bev, David and his wive Sue came for our family reunion in Minneapolis. We all shared fun family memories. Jack made a point of visiting my dad's grave at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis. We went by the house where he and my dad lived with their grandma and grandma . Charles Schultz of The Peanuts was their neighbor and as kids they played together. I've always wondered in any of the characters were based on Jack or my dad Bob. Like we always say, I wish I had been able to spend more time with Uncle Jack's family. I'll always wonder what I missed, not knowing them more.
