John Dale Forkenbrock's Obituary
John Dale Forkenbrock, resident of Lakewood, passed away peacefully February 14, 2024 after several years of dealing with several forms of melanoma including Merkel cell. He was born December 25, 1940 to A. Dale and Byllie Ann Forkenbrock who predeceased him. He attended St. Leo's School, Bellarmine Prep., and the University of Puget Sound where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
John was a longtime member of Tacoma Lodge Sons and Daughters of Italy, St. John Bosco parish, former member of Lakewood Rotary, Oakbrook Golf and Country Club, and Spanaway men's club.
John was a fourth generation funeral director. He was very proud of his profession and served countless families throughout his career helping them during difficult times. He enjoyed boating, cars, golf, his yard, and travels with his wife particularly trips to Kauai and spending time on the Oregon coast.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda Staples Forkenbrock, daughter Julie Anne Forkenbrock, son Darin James Forkenbrock, adopted daughter Jenna Thornton, and special pal grandson Emmett Holbrook, sisters Jina Marie Bonime and Jerol Ann Gallucci, brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. A private service for immediate family will be held and a celebration of life gathering in the future.
