Dear Kathryb & John: Your Father was oldest and one my best firends during our lives. We went to Lwell School, Mason Interediate and Stadium High School together and I remember his seeing me off from Union Statin as I o\borarded a train which would connect me eventually to Taft School in Watertown, Conn. where I sent for a post graduate year and graduated from Taft in June of 1947. Thene I went to Yale University, graduation in June of 1951. I spent the next two years in the USMCR, a year of which was spent in Korea as a forward artillery observer and battery officer, returning home to the US in April of 1953. My parents had postponed an European vaction until I retunred from Korea, but we left for that trip in June of 1953 returning in September of that year where I caught up with the newly wedded Gastons. I was saddend by your Father's disabilities due to his stroke, but did keep in tough with Wendy during John's illness until her death last September, and when I heard of John's passing this month I was touched by the fact as yu say "they ae now together again and forever." My affection continues with thoughts of both the two of youand Marissa, and I look forward to seeing you all at the memorial to be heal at the Tacoma Country & Golf club on Novermber l4th. Fondly, John Hewitt##imported-begin##john hewitt##imported-end##
