To all of John's family members...I am going to miss my neighbor, John, so much. His wit, sometimes sarcastic, was one of his special attributes! He knew everything that was going on in Country Club Gardens and I could always count on him telling me the latest gossip! Once he was telling me very graphically about one of our neighbors who drives way too fast down our little street and that if he ever catches her, he was going to give her a piece of his mind....just then she came racing down the street, and John, true to his word, stepped off the curb and flagged her down. There was "blue smoke" coming out of his mouth as he loudly reprimanded her. I do believe that she thinks of that each time she drives past now, so thank you, John.
I will miss getting bags of pinecones at Christmas time, and tomatoes in the summertime. He helped put a new latch on my gate because mine was broken, then gave me a nice padlock to secure it even more. I didn't see John real often, but when we did meet outside, it was fun to talk with him. He sure loved his golf and his golf buddies. He told me that he always gets a new car every 80000 miles and the only criteria it had to have was that his golf clubs fit into the trunk!
I will miss you, John. Every time from now on when I find a golf ball, I will think of you and say a little prayer.
