John E. Canonica's Obituary
John Everett Canonica "Ev" was born 4/12/1912 in White Sulpher Springs, Montana. He passed away quietly on March 10, 2011 in Tacoma, WA. Dad quit high school when his father passed away to help out the family. He worked various jobs in sawmills and plywood plants. He later went to night school, then went to work for the City of Tacoma. He ran the Western Slopes Wastewater Treatment plant from the day it started up until he retired at the age of 65. Dad was an avid outdoors man and he would take us boys hunting, fishing, clam digging or whatever else, while mom read. (Only if we finished our chores!) He is survived by his wife Wilma; his sister Connie; his three sons John, Steve and Mark; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed. At his request, there will be no services held. A celebration of Dad's life will be held at 7239 East D Street, Tacoma, WA. on March 19th at 2PM. Dad, wherever you are we all hope Max-A-Million is there to flush the birds and that the fish are biting. SAVE US A PLACE! Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
