John D. "Jack" Babbitt's Obituary
John "Jack" Babbitt
Jack was born in Centralia, WA. on June 16, 1934. He passed away on March 23, 2017. He served in the U.S. Army and was married to his loving wife Carol for nearly 60 years. Jack had an outstanding career for the Tacoma Fire Department where he retired as a Lieutenant in 1992. He loved every day as a firefighter. During his retirement years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and classic cars and gained true friends when he joined Roadsters Northwest and spent many weekends at car shows. The retirement years were filled with travels to many places, the best was the African Safari where he got to see the elephants up close.
Jack is survived by his wife and three children; Mike Babbitt (Lisa), Jeff Babbitt (Rebbecca Blair), and Marci (Bill) Fox and his grandchildren Alisha Babbitt and Paul Babbitt.
He so appreciated all his friends who visited him during his illness and enjoyed talking about all the fishing, hunting trips and fire department. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of family and friends and he will never be forgotten.
