Johanna West's Obituary
Johanna West, beloved wife and sweetheart to George for 64 years, and wonderful mother to Heather and Daniel, and a dear Granny to Tanya, Tad, Susanna, and Megan, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Tacoma.Joey was born in Winnipeg, Canada, where she married George. They moved to Long Beach, CA, raising their children and living in the same home for 46 years. Joey was a beautiful sewer and knitter, played bridge, was active in PTA, and involved in their church. She was a Wheels on Meals volunteer, and an avid reader and walker. She is also a retired Southern California Retail Clerks Union member.A private family service will be held at her daughterÂ's home on Tuesday, Oct 4, to celebrate a special sweetheart.The family wishes to thank all the beautiful souls at Group Health Hospice for their loving care during her valiant fight with cancer.
