Joanne Justine Mires' Obituary
Joanne Justine Mires, 84, of Tacoma, Washington passed away, Saturday, December 18, 2021. Joanne was born on June 7, 1937 in Velva, North Dakota to William F. Zweigle, Sr. and Beulah R. Zweigle.
She grew up in Tacoma, attending Whitman, Stewart and Lincoln High School. Joanne spent 36 years with the Federal Government. Her career took her around the country. She retired in 1992 from the VA Medical Center in Loma Linda, California as a Staffing Specialist. After she retired, she and her husband Sam hooked their car to the motorhome and traveled around the country visiting family and friends. They settled in Spanaway, Washington in 1993. Joanne moved back home to Tacoma, Washington in 2016.
She was preceded in death by her Dad and Mom, William F. Zweigle, Sr. and Beulah R. Zweigle, Brother Donald R. Zweigle, Sister Jeanette L. Mason, and Brother Maurice Zweigle, Midland, MI. Her husband Samuel D. Mires died on December 31, 2011. She is survived by Brother William F. Zweigle, Jr. (Linda), Bridgeport, WA, Brother Al Zweigle, Tulsa, OK, Sister-in-Law Yvonne Zweigle, Morgan City, LA, Sister-in-Law Sandy Bradley (Robert), Nampa, ID, Niece Anita L. Wesselman, East Wenatchee, WA, Niece Carol L. Hardie (Tom), East Wenatchee, WA, Nephew Keith L. Zweigle (Pam), East Wenatchee, WA, Nephew Dennis R. Zweigle (Tammy), Frisco, TX, Nephew Darrel L. Zweigle (Jennifer), Zachary, Louisiana, and Niece DeAnna L. Dupree, Morgan City, LA. Also, many Great Nieces and Nephews, plus Great-Great Nieces and Nephews, and Great Niece Samantha L. Cody (Brandon), McCleary, WA.
She also leaves behind some of Sam’s family. She was preceded in death by Jack and Lois Mires, Yelm, WA. She is survived by Lon and Peggy Mires, Mt. Juliet, TN, Terry and Ann Gilmore, Prineville, OR, Granddaughter Tarin Mires, Rochester, WA, and her Mom Rhonda Mires, Olympia, WA.
Joanne also leaves behind very special friends Kathy Metcalf, Dora (Raul) Hinojosa, Nancy Hankins, Don and Sharon Zurfluh, La Vora Gerber and more.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Noon, located at Mountain View Funeral Home, Lakewood, WA.
