JOANNE MATSON JoAnne Matson passed away June 22, 2013 at age 84. She was born in Alhambra, Ca. on May 31, 1929 to Gluck W. Riley and Ellen Brock Riley. She moved to Seattle in 1941 with her mother. JoAnne married Emerson N. Matso Read Obituary
She was my "Mom" for a short period of time. I will always remember her kindness, generosity and love that she bestowed upon myself and my daughter Andrea. I have nothing but wonderful memories of her, Em, and Nanna. I have spent some time in the past few days thinking about her and her wonderful family. She was one tremendous lady.

An amazing woman. Her service to the Franklin Pierce school board kept it from going the way of most city school districts because her focus was on educating children, not promoting the education administration.
As to being a neighbor, growing up on Bingham, she kept an eye on what was happening around the neighborhood. She raised some pretty awesome children and all my memories from growing up warm my heart, except when I wasn't behaving particularly good. She leaves a legacy that we can and should emulate.

JoAnne was a wonderful woman. She served God through her church and on the school board. Now she see Jesus face to face and is with her beloved husband Emerson.
Joanne was the most wonderful School Board member for the Franklin Pierce SD where I had children in school and also taught.
