JoAnn Marie Baroh's Obituary
JoAnn Baroh (Erker) passed peacefully at home on August 31st.
She was supported by loving family, friends and caregivers during the last days of her life. JoAnn was born in 1940 in Selfridge, North Dakota. She moved to Tacoma, WA in 1945 where she resided the rest of her life.
JoAnn was a devout Catholic. She was a spiritual anchor that left a profound impact on our lives. JoAnn was clearly a mentor that challenged us to question our own thoughts and behaviors, and who ultimately wanted the best for everyone. She passed her wisdom and gratitude to all. She taught us strength for getting through rough moments that will undoubtedly come our way and to have faith in our higher power “The work is ours to do but we cannot do it alone”.
JoAnn lived each minute to the fullest.
JoAnn is predeceased by her Father All Erker, Mother Marie Erker (Helgeson), husband Stephen Baroh, Son-Jeffery Baroh (surviving forever friend -Susie Maharry), Brothers -Allen Erker and Richard Erker, Friend John Rohr.
She is survived by her Sister Vicki Pfau (Erker), Daughters-Stephanie Baroh (husband) Frank Faker
and Tracy Shipman (Husband Troy Shipman). Friend Randy Wellan, 7 grandchildren: Sarah Nix, Joshua Santos, Nicole Evens, Carley Shipman, Tyler Shipman, Brittany Shipman, Michael Baroh and 11 great grandchildren. A child's smile was her true treasure. She was the first woman owned president and Co-founder of HER Industrial painting with Steve Baroh, until his passing in 1993.
JoAnn was a 27 year Parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Heaven, Society member of Monastery of St. Gertrude-for our nuns, Eucharistic minister, Spanaway historical society donator, Spanaway and Sumner food bank volunteer, Member of American Cancer Society, Genealogical society member, Hospice & Multicare volunteer, belonged to Fraternal Eagles club & Elks club.
JoAnn lived life donating time, wisdom, and financial support, to make life better for others.
