Joan Elizabeth "Joanie" Sanders
The late Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Adams-Sanders, age 74, of Tacoma, Washington passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Sanders was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 11, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Scales-Adams and Burley Adams.
Mrs. Sanders was an incredible person that loved to read. She was a gifted artist and painter as well. Sister Sanders had the ability to make others laugh in that she was known for her sense of humor. She also enjoyed simply spending time with family and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Johnetta D. Sanders. Joan is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth A. Harris; a devoted Aunt Mrs. Anna Blair, and Uncle Mr. Lester Blair, six grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins and close friends.
Services for Joanie will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 2:00PM at St. Paul Baptist Church; 2225 South 19th Street, Tacoma, 98405.
