Joan Mary Reed's Obituary
Joan Mary Glading was born on August 31, 1946, in Ipswich, England to Florence Alice Glading and William James Read. She was born at 8 Romney Road, the same house she would bear her own children in years later. She was the youngest of 6 children, had one sister and four brothers. She met an airman from the United State, Charles Daniel Boyd, and married in 1964. Her first child, Charles William Alan Boyd (spouse Karin) was born in 1965 and her daughter, Jayne Elizabeth Marshall in 1968. She moved with her family to the United States for the second time in 1976. After divorcing, she moved with her children to Washington state in 1981. Joan was a waitress for many years, but later in life switched to working in the health field to assist people in their homes. She worked for Catholic Community Services for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughter, Jayne, and grandchildren Jared, Madison and Samantha. She also was blessed with many great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Audrey, Cannon, Blayde, MariJayne, Presley, Charles, and Clinton. She is in heaven now celebrating with the precious CleaMae, another great grandchild we never got to hold in our arms, but who will be held in our hearts forever. Joan held a special place in her heart for the Marshall family as well. This includes her former son-in-law, Jim, grandchildren James and Megan and great grandchildren Ryan and Ava. Joan will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity to homeless animals and her willingness to work hard every day. She loved her family and the Lord with all her heart. She made many friends over the years and she will be missed by many. Rest pain-free in peace, Nana.
