Joan Hawkinson's Obituary
Joan V. Hawkinson
Joan was born in Seattle, Washington to Ora and Richard Heald on April 29, 1929. She became our Christmas angel on December 25th, 2008, going to spend Christmas with our dad in their heavenly home.
Joan worked at Fort Lewis and in Japan before marrying Vern, her husband of 50 years. She then did her most fulfilling job of being a wife and mom. She was a scout den mother, blue bird leader, PTA member, and neighborhood mom. Joan also loved her Thursday morning bowling league for over 30 years.
She is survived by her loving children Dennis and Sue, her sisters Betty (Carl) Whinnery and Pat (Doug) Voss, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Special thanks to the Lakewood Healthcare Center for the care they gave mom.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Mom's name.
