Joan Gertrude Hondle's Obituary
Joan (Gerty) Hondle was born in Dickinson, North Dakota to Peter and Rose Reisenauer. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1940. Joan was married to her husband Bill for 68 years, and was the loving mother of four children, Gloria, Roger, Bill and Bruce, was grandmother to five and great-grandmother to seven, and great-great-grandmother to one. Joan was a dedicated homemaker, very active in church circles and the PTA. She was a recipient of the Golden Acorn award. Joan was very talented in cake-decorating, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, china painting, and most of all oil painting. She loved to bake, cook, and enjoyed having holiday dinners with her family. Joan enjoyed traveling and visiting relatives in Montana and Dickinson, ND. She also enjoyed accompanying her husband Bill when he participated in various trapshooting organizations. Joan will always be remembered by all with whom she associated in her many activities. Visitors to her home often commented enthusiastically upon the beauty she skillfully portrayed in the many paintings upon her walls. Most of all, she will be remembered for her devotion as a loving wife and mother.
