Joan impressed me as a gracious, contented lady who possessed great style. Her lovely smile was so pleasant to see on Sunday mornings.
Brian, My condolences. I remember meeting your mom, and the obituary in today's Tribune reminded me about her unique talent for doing cool things. And your photo touched me, because I was with mom - a woman of great faith - at the time of her passing, and it was one of the most glorious experiences I could have in my life. I, too, took a similar picture.

Such a wonderful picture of Joan. She had a little bit of mischief in her and the picture shows that twinkle she would get in her in eyes when she was up to something. I remember her little giggles. Such good memories.
I always appreciated Joan's graciousness, her energy, her faith, her intelligence, and bright character. And it's nearly impossible for me to think of her without remembering her red Honda Civic! We will miss this great lady so much!
