Jim Maw
Jim Maw was born in Yakima on September 13, 1937 and passed away while traveling in Israel on June 9, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Kern; his sons, Steven, Brian and Randy; granddaughters Annabel, Savannah, Erin and Brianna; brothers Terry and Danny; nieces and nephews, in-laws and many friends.
Jim spent his professional career in education. He taught or worked as an administrator in the Arlington, Steilacoom, Granite Falls, Snohomish, Hunters school districts and the ESD. He retired as the Arlington School District Superintendent in 1996.
After retirement Jim pursued his hobbies -" working on his street rod, fishing, golf, puttering in his shop and traveling in the U.S. and abroad. His favorite activities were the annual 4th of July celebration with his family and the annual family trip with his children and grandchildren. Jim was proud of his family and his passing will leave a deep hole in their hearts.The family will hold a private memorial service.
