Jim Brooks' Obituary
Franklin James Brooks, age 75, passed away Monday after a battle with cancer. Born April 15, 1931, in Vona, Colorado, Jim moved to Tacoma in 1944. He graduated from Lincoln H.S., served in the Air Force, worked at McChord AFB, Boeing, and was a real estate salesman. During his later years, he enjoyed being self-employed as a handyman. Jim was a deeply caring husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife Marty of eighteen years, brother Jerry Brooks; sister Marlene Pinnick; son David Brooks and wife Lori; daughter Jayme Ward and husband Michael; daughter Karen Madsen and husband Todd; and step-son Eric Hall. Jim is also survived by six grandchildren: Justin, Tyler, Erin, Rebecca, Courtney and Blake. He also leaves a very sad little dog, Coco, whom he loved dearly.Jim especially enjoyed traveling with Marty to warm, sunny places where snorkeling and water volleyball were always on their dayÂ's agenda. Each summer, they spent many happy days boating and fishing for salmon near Neah Bay and Sekiu. Their smoked salmon and salmon barbeques will always be fondly remembered by all. Their other interests included creating photo albums and video montages on their computers.Remembrances may be made in JimÂ's name to: Group Health Hospice, 1730 Minor Ave., Suite 1500, Seattle, WA 98101.Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2006 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
