Jill Marie Skea's Obituary
Jill Marie Skea passed away February 18, 2024 in Tacoma, WA. Jill was born July 14, 1952 in Tacoma, WA to Jane Skea and George Skea. Jill was a Tacoma native and graduate of Stadium High School. She was a beloved single mother of 2 children. She worked as a custodian for the Tacoma Public Schools District, before retiring.
Jill was a kind and caring woman to her family and friends and would always think about others before herself. She had a great sense of humor. She loved to write her friends and family letters with her uniquely small handwriting. She also loved to send poems and special notes to make people smile. She always made sure people knew how important they were to her. Jill cared for her family and friends’ well being so much that she never wanted them to worry about her. When asked how she was doing, she would often say “I’m fine” even when she was clearly not fine. It did end up being a family joke that one day “I’m Fine” would be put on her tombstone. While that is not happening, she would like you to know that she is “fine” and now free from her constant pain struggles.
Jill is preceded in death by son Kristopher “Sonics Guy” Brannon, and parents George Skea and Jane Skea. She is survived by daughter Zaraya Skea, son-in-law Jeffrey Weickum, grandson George Weickum, and brother Marc Skea.
Jill’s graveside service will be held on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 10:30am at Mountain View Funeral Home & Cemetery. 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to your favorite charity.
