Jesus Nieves' Obituary
Jesus Nieves, 53, passed away on April 28, 2013 at his home in Dupont, Washington. Jesus was born in the Bronx in New York City on March 8, 1960 to Imenges Nieves and Lidia Soto. After high school he entered into the Army in 1978. During his service he was awarded 3 overseas service ribbons, an Army Commendation medal, an NCO Professional Development ribbon, and Sharpshooting honors. He served 14 years and was honorably discharged in 1992. Also during his Army service he married and had two children, Isaiah and Alicia Nieves. Jesus then opted to join the Air Force Reserves in 1993 with the 446th Airlift wing ASTS at McChord Air Force Base, earning a Pharmacy Tech certification, and several other medical certifications during his 17 years of service. Along with his reserve service, in 1993, he also joined the Washington State Patrol as an Equipment Technician installing, repairing and modifying State Patrol vehicles. Jesus spent 20 years with the State Patrol until his death. He enjoyed writing, literature, classical music, and was an avid lover of the cinema.
Jesus is preceded in death by his father, Imenges Nievs. He is survived by his fiance Xin Pan, his children Isaiah and Alicia, his mother Lidia, and sisters Annie, Leticia, and Mercedes.
