Jesse Lou Bishop's Obituary
Jesse Lou Bishop, born March 24, 1920 in Cullowhee, NC, died Oct 27, 2005 in Lakewood. Retired as a Captain after 21 years in the Army. He served in the Pacific in WWII, in the 23rd Infantry 2nd Division in Korea and in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star in WWII, the Silver Star and Bronze Star in Korea, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.He was a member of Henry A Green Masonic Lodge, Fort Lewis Chapter of Sojourners, Fort Steilacoom 3053 Lewis Chapter Order of Eastern Star, the 23rd Infantry Association, and the First Baptist Church of Lakewood.Survivors include sons Kent Bishop of Seattle, Larry Bishop of Tacoma, and David Bishop of Oakville; daughter in laws Jean, Sharon, and Cheryl; A brother, Ray Bishop of Morgantown, NC and a sister, Irene Hooper of Falls Church, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Rebecca (Jason) Weisenhaus, Deborah Bishop, Mary Beth (Mike) Jahner, Mark Bishop, Laurie Ann Bishop, and Catherine Thorne; five great grandsons; four great granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.Viewing will be held from 12:00 Â- 9:00 PM, Tuesday, Nov 1, 2005, at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov 2, 2005, in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
