Jerry Arlyn Salzgeber's Obituary
A true cowboy spirit Jerry Salzgeber, age 66 of Pierce County, WA, left this world on February 11, 2025. Born on October 05, 1958: in Medford, Wisconsin to Christian and Patricia Paine Salzgeber. Jerry grew up in Medford, Wisconsin, joining the US Army in 1976 for 8 years working as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. Upon his honorable discharge at Fort Lewis, Washington Jerry started a new career as an over the road truck driver where he eventually started his own trucking business with several trucks. Later he retired from trucking and started working as a heavy vehicle mechanic and eventually became the shop foreman.
Jerry will be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He had a genuine love of family and his efforts to stay connected, hosting visits from Wisconsin relatives.
Jerry had a passion for horseback riding and trail rides in the mountains with his beloved horse. He also enjoyed encouraging young people to ride horses including his daughter Jennifer who excelled in horse gaming including barrel racing. Jerry was a cowboy and enjoyed raising cattle. He was a member of the Back Country Horsemen of America.
Jerry is survived by his beloved spouse of 47 years, Kathy Dubis Salzgeber, his children, Jennifer and Eric, grandchild Eric, siblings, Jean (David), Chris, Dennis (Judy), Eddy (Val), Joan, Eugene and Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles
& nephews. Jerry’s legacy of laughter, love and family bonds will be deeply missed and will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
