Jerry Lee Rucker Jr's Obituary
Jerry Lee Rucker Jr. was born June 6, 1954 in Chanute, Kansas. He passed away March 25, 2024 at the age of 69. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jerry served his country with honor and distinction as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he served for 23 years. After retiring the military he continued his service as a Union Steward for the US Postal Service for 20 years. Jerry’s dedication to his work and his fellow servicemen and women was unwavering.
One of Jerry’s greatest accomplishments was his family. He shared a loving and lasting marriage of 40 years with his wife, and together they raised a beautiful family. He is survived by his wife Visitacion (Vessie) Rucker, children Jessica Borja, Kimberly Rucker (Regan Cambia, son-in-law), Raquel Rucker, and Mark Rucker along with his grandchildren Raenalyne Kao, Delenn Harker, Jude Borja, and Aston Rucker-Cambia. Jerry took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and his legacy will live on through them.
Throughout his life, Jerry had the opportunity to travel to many countries around the world, making lifelong friendships along the way. He enjoyed gardening, winning contests, and spending time with family and friends. Jerry had a passion for good food, music, sports, and was always ready to fire up the barbecue and crack open an ice cold beer.
Jerry’s memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will be remembered for his generosity, intellect, humor and his unwavering commitment to those he loved. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on April 16, 2024 at Mountain View Funeral Home’s Garden Chapel. Viewing will start at 10:00 AM followed by his Chapel Service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Tahoma National Cemetery at a later date.
