Jerry George Persons “Grandpa”, age 70, of Fife, Washington, retired computer systems analyst with Weyerhaeuser, died early Sunday March 23, 2014 and awaits the Christ’s return. He was born April 20, 1943 in Los Angeles California to Medford “Perk” and Elizabeth (Ryan) Persons, the second of two children. Shortly after his birth his family returned to Portland, Oregon where he lived for much of his youth.
After graduating high school, Jerry went to Oregon State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. December of 1974 brought him into marriage with his wife Candy. From this marriage, five children were born. Grandpa enjoyed being amidst God’s creation, camping, fishing or golfing with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Candy, of the home; sister Jeanne and husband Lance Watterberg of Woodburn, OR; children: Curtis and wife Alison and their daughter Nora of Portland OR; Matthew and fiancée Becky Crosetto of Kent, WA; Shawna and husband Patrick Carrillo and their sons Ayden, Taran, Kylen and Trystan of Malaga, WA; Erin and husband Mark Riley and their sons Joel and Simon of Ponca City, OK, Luke and wife Pebbles of Kent, WA; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private interment service will be held at the Mountain View Memorial Park, Tacoma, WA.
Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00PM Saturday, March 29 at the Russian Community Center, 2011 152nd Ave NE, Redmond, WA, 98052.
