Jerome Nottage, 61 of Tacoma, Washington passed way on July 9, 2020. Jerome will be missed and is loved by many family and friends. Family is currently working on a more complete obituary. Please honor the life and memory of Jerom Read Obituary
In the 1980s, Jerry and I had some wonderful tussles playing Gaelic football in Seattle, because we usually faced off one-to-one. And afterwards, we shared a drink and replayed each game. Jerry was a gentleman who always comes up in our reminiscences of happy times in Seattle. Ar dheis Dé a hanam dhilís.
On behalf of those of us here in Calgary who played many a Gaelic Football game against this giant of a man, I offer our sincere sympathies to Jerome's family. My memories of him are that he was a tough opponent on the field and a delight to be around both off and on the field. RIP Jerry.
My memories are not memories they are cherished thoughts of a man that loved his daughter beyond any words. A man that checked daily on his friends, loved life to the fullest and the way he wanted. The length of time (30+years) I’ve known you is not replaceable to the joy you brought with your laugh, our deep conversations everything shared. You loved from your heart ❤️ more then anyone I knew. My heart is broken my condolences go out to your daughter and family. As you said live life to the fullest nothing is promised. He needed you more then you were needed here. Our deepest condolences for the loss of Jerome. Dar, I know we haven't connected in many years but you and Grayson are in Renee and my thoughts and prayers. Jere was always so proud of Grayson for her school and soccer achievements.
Jere had about the best sense of humor of any person I've ever met. There are memories of us laughing at pranks we'd play on each other in the office, and to date I've never felt my stomach muscles ache as much from the laughter we all shared together. One time after Jere came back from a family vacation, the office accountant (Jim) had hung all of his personal items from his desktop (pictures, stapler, inbox, etc) on fishing wire from the building roof, dangling at eye level outside of Jere's office window. Just one of many examples, and Jere of course apreciated the prank. We worked together with Kent McCleod, Ed Dalbey, and other friends at DPE systems, and it was easily the most fun I've ever had in an office environment. Jere was an incredible conversaitionalist, and was always interested and engaged with our office friends. We had great times going out for lunch, or on occasion hanging out in downtown Seattle with the gang after work. (back in the days when being in Seattle was actually a good thing! :-)
The passing of Jere is a loss for us all. His humor and appreciation for life will always be a part of me.

I met Jere by busting the headlight on his car with a basketball when I around 11. Had to knock on his door and tell him what I did as he and Dar had just moved in next door and we hadn’t even met them. Told him what happened and he was way more interested in meeting me, knowing my name and what I did for fun. We eventually got back to the car and I said I would pay to fix it. We inspected and he suggested I pay to order the part and we put back on ourselves so it was cheaper and he would help me.
He would later coach my soccer team after learning I was a soccer player and was keenly interested in making me a better player and even better person. He did cause my only ejection from a game when someone kicked our goalie and I was pulled aside by Jere to send a message. After the red card and ejection as I trotted back to Jere on the sidelines (and after he calmed my parents down saying it was his message) he had tears in his eyes laughing and said there was a fine line between sending a message and trying to separate their torso from their lower body and that we would work on that. For the record the other player was fine (we weren’t complete animals) and he never did come near our goalie again.
Jere would later invite me to play on his Gaelic football team and continue to check in on me through college, the passing of my Dad, and was one of the most excited people to call when I made partner in my firm.
Jere’s selflessness and care over the years have made me a better person and I will be indebted forever. I hope I can have half the impact on someone’s life that didn’t do anything to earn it other than being a crappy shot in basketball. Love you Jere! Dar...I have no words for your loss.

My sincere sympathy to Jeromes family. I know he leaves behind many who cared deeply for him. Jerome enjoyed many things. His most favorite being his daughter Grayson. He spoke of many soccer games and her achievements and was so proud of you. Jerome had quite the sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. He spoke kindly of those who cared for him and he knew each day was a gift from God. May you be at peace , run the soccer fields, detail the car of your dreams. Until we meet again Jerome...
Jerome lived life by his own rules. That was often painful for many and yet he also had charisma and love to spare. He was complicated and simple at the same time. His passing has left a hole in the hearts of many. He was an enigma and both sides of the same coin. He was love and hate, kindness and meanness. He hated puns-they were the lowest form of humor in his eyes. And yet, he had a sense of humor and a laugh that will never be forgotten. Never one to be told what to do, he frustrated many and yet that charm kept people coming back for more. He was determined to live fast, and hard, and always knew he would die young. You made it past 60, Jerome, something you always thought wouldn't happen. May you rest in peace with your Father and Mother. I hope you know you were loved even when your behavior was not. For all your bravado, you really were just a little boy who wanted to be loved. Thank you for the good times and know you are forgiven your human frailties. Forever loved, cherished, and missed. My deepest and sincere condolences to family.
