Jeffrey J Warren's Obituary
Jeffrey James Warren (65) of Tacoma passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center on November 19, 2014, twelve days after suffering a sudden stroke on the day he was to begin enjoying retirement at his family’s home in Deltona, Florida. At the end, he was surrounded by his loving wife Nilda, his children Mathew and Rachel, his sister Kathryn (Stoker), brothers Duane and Thomas, and many dear friends.
Jeff was born (along with his twin sister) on July 21, 1949 to Franklin and Lorene Warren in Waltham, Mass. But he did not stay long in one place. As the child of a military family, he grew up in many places around America and in Europe. After graduating from Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in NH, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He continued as a reservist after leaving the military, and served on active duty during Desert Storm.
Furthering his education, Jeff took a Sociology degree at CSU Sacramento and later completed studies in nursing and became a certified Airframe-and-Power-Plant mechanic at Clover Park Technical College. He worked at Boeing for a number of years, and was then employed as an aircraft mechanic at Alaska Airlines, where he stayed until retirement.
Jeff had many passions in life. His wife and children came first, followed closely by his love of people. Throughout his life, Jeff found friends everywhere he went, simply because he treated everyone with care and respect – and they responded. Then came travel, because he was raised in a family that traveled and explored the world. He and the family loved to vacation on beaches in various states and foreign countries. And finally, because of his mechanical aptitude, he loved machines. Over the years he rebuilt and maintained various classic cars and motorcycles, which he loved to tour about the country.
