Jeffrey Magnuson's Obituary
Jeffrey Craig Magnuson, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Federal Way, Washington, on March 15, 2025, at the age of 63.
Born on September 29, 1961, in Tacoma, Washington, Jeff grew up with a strong sense of family and community. He attended Baker Middle School and Foss High School before continuing his education at Western Washington University. A talented athlete, Jeff excelled in wrestling and football, carrying that same determination and energy into every part of his life.
Jeff was a devoted father to his two children, Jacob and NaTasha, whom he raised with unwavering love and support. Though his marriage to Carrie, his high school sweetheart, came to an end, they shared a deep commitment to family. Together, they set an example of selflessness and dedication, co-parenting their children with love, respect, and teamwork. His granddaughter, Hyatt, was the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with her.
For over 35 years, Jeff worked as a mortgage broker, helping countless families find their homes. He was known not just for his expertise but for his kindness, honesty, and willingness to go the extra mile for anyone in need. Jeff never met a stranger—he had a unique ability to connect with people, making friends wherever he went.
Jeff found joy in the mountains, especially when snowboarding with his kids and his brother, Jimmy. He was passionate about fitness and staying active, but above all, his greatest love was his family. He never missed a ball game or big moment in his kids' lives, always their biggest supporter. His home in Federal Way was his sanctuary, and it’s where he peacefully passed—a place filled with decades of memories and love. In recent years, Jeff shared his home with his sister, Barbara. The time they spent together watching movies, talking about life, and reminiscing about family was something Jeff deeply cherished.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Katherine. He is survived by his children, Jacob (wife Karly) and NaTasha (husband Hector); his beloved granddaughter, Hyatt (daughter of Jacob and Karly); his brother, Jim (wife Kim); his sister, Barbara; and many friends and family members who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
Jeff’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and love. He was selfless, loyal, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His laughter, warmth, and big-hearted nature will be missed beyond words.
In honor of his memory, the family asks that donations be made to the Boys & Girls Club in lieu of flowers, so that more kids can experience the same sense of community and opportunity that Jeff did.
