Jeffrey Granlund's Obituary
Jeffrey David Granlund left our world on February 27, 2016 to be with his family members that have passed away before him. Family members are Tim Granlund (brother) 1974, David Granlund (dad) 1994, and Merrilee Eirish (sister) 2005.
Jeff graduated from Curtis High School in June of 1969, graduated from Central Washington State University in June of 1973 In Education. He proceeded to secure a teaching job with the Tacoma School District starting in September of 1973. He continued to teach for the Tacoma School District for 42 years before retiring in June of 2016. 42 years of service and teaching many individuals the necessary needs to be successful as they proceed through life.
He was an awesome and in creditable individual, teacher, friend, cousin, uncle, son and brother. He was always willing to help those that needed help so they could have a little bit of sunshine to break through and chase some of those black clouds away. He was loved by many friends, acquaintances, colleagues, family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He is survived by Betty Granlund (mom), Richard Granlund (brother), Carolyn Hutton (niece), William Granlund (nephew), and Dr. Jennifer Granlund-Barrett (niece) and many other family members from Bellevue, Ocean Shores, Australia, California, Korea, Minnesota, Tacoma and University Place.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or neighborhood school in Jeff’s name.
There will a Celebration of Life gathering to visit with family, tell some stories, and share some memories about Jeff be held on March 5, 2016 from 2 -5 p.m. at Famous Dave’s Restaurant located at 1901 South 72nd Street. (Just East of the I – 5 freeway at 72nd Street in Tacoma).
