After a courageous two year battle with cancer, Jeffery Lee Wilford passed away on December 11, 2009 at his home in Tacoma, Washington. Jeff was born on January 29, 1959 to Sterling and Margaret Wilford. He was the second of three children, an older brother, Gregory and younger sister, Valerie. He attended Stadium High School. Upon graduation, Jeff continued his education at Pierce College in Lakewood, Washington. Jeff and his brother, Greg, co-owned and operated a fencing company for many years. Jeff was always a hard worker who did not stop until the job was done. Jeff was a man of many talents. In additional to his exceptional fishing skills, he was an outstanding artist. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Sterling "Stokey" Wilford. Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Yolanda Wilford of Tacoma, Washington and his loving mother, Margaret Wilford of Tacoma, Washington. Jeff will also be greatly missed by his brother, Gregory Wilford of Tacoma, Washington; sister Valerie (Sherman) Willis of Newcastle, Washington and their children Brandon and Brittni, and a host of family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Garden Chapel at the Mountain View Funeral Home, located at 4100 Steilacoom Blvd, SW, Lakewood, Washington 98499. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Tacoma General Hospital for all of their assistance and support through Jeff's illness.
